My birthday is this week. Woop, woop! I don’t usually promote my own birthday or plan parties for myself. It’s just not my style. But I wanted to write about this birthday because it means I am officially in my 30’s. I will be 31 on Friday. And I couldn’t be more excited! I want to ask you to give me a birthday present. Don’t worry, it’s not something materialistic. And you won’t have to spend much money. Unless you really want to. (And in that case, my favorite flowers are big fluffy, peach roses that smell delicious, I love dark chocolate & neon yoga pants are my new weekend favorite, just sayin… 😉 ) But you know what I really want from you-my readers and friends? I want you to join me in my 31 Acts of Kindness in July for my 31st birthday. During my birthday month I am going to perform 31 random acts of kindness to show people that I don’t know, and maybe some that I do, how special they are. When I was growing up and asked my Mom what she wanted for her birthday she ALWAYS said “A Happy Family.” And that’s what I want too! Except I want to take it one step further and share that happiness with my entire community, and maybe someday…the world! I will blog about my little bits of kindness along the way and I am asking you to tell me about your random acts of kindness this month that show your community how special they are. Here are a few ideas of what I am going to do this month to say “Happy 31st Birthday to me” by doing 31 random acts of kindness. Don’t you think that is just what our world needs?
*Secretly drop coins at the playground for kids to find.
*Buy a grocery gift card and hand it to the person in line behind me.
*Leave flowers on my neighbors doorstep.
*Send a thank you note to an old friend to say thank you for their friendship over the years
*Write a letter to each of my children telling them how special they are to me.
*Pay for the car behind me’s coffee at the drive-thru.
What ideas do you have for me? I want you to be a part of my birthday month and share what you are doing to say “Happy 31st Birthday Rosie” and help make someone else’s day. So, for my birthday, will you just perform one random act of kindness this month? It may just make your day special too.
